Since I’m stuck at the Orlando airport 4-eva, I figured now was a great time to update the blogaroo. Now, first things first:

Yes, that is me shouting victory to the world! Peyton, you had me biting my nails for the first half of the game, but ALL IS FORGIVEN! Colts and Saints, baby, can’t wait!

Now, on to the stuff. Orlando was fun. It’s warm here, I felt the sun for the first time in months, and it was very good. We got to meet up with tons of HTB’s old buddies (he used to live in FL) and that was fun, and of course I got to hang out with my buddy Scott, who gave me the Whole Foods hookup. The kitchen at the condo was super small, but had all the essentials. I have to say, the blender there made MY blender seem like a Vita Mix, so… I will just stop complaining about it. It literally took ten minutes to make my smoothie each morning, but that’s okay. I just set it whirling and left it while I did my hair and makeup.

As for the eats, I brought a few things from home: my almond butter, smoothie add-ins, muffins, chickpea quinoa casserole leftovers, massaged kale, and some fruits. Scott brought me delicious vegan-raw salsa (I know, a little over the top), my beloved blue corn chips, almond milk, and some kombucha tea. This enabled me to have my smoothie every morning (except this morning… we’ll get to that), and to bring snacks with me every where. I actually did GREAT. I was shocked. I will post pictures of my eats in a separate post when we finally get home, because the internet connection in the airport is slow and it literally took me seven minutes to download that one photo and, gosh, that’s just way too long to wait πŸ™‚

Last night was the only night that I was a little “bad.” And it was all because of the sauce. I had a lot of sauce yesterday. And it really sauced me up. After two weeks of eating so clean, booze just has a rip-roaring party in my body, and as I’m sure you all know, when you drink a lot you also tend to put whatever is in front of you in your mouth.

For the Colts game, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, and I tried this stuff called “Sweet Tea Vodka.” I decided it would be best to just sip on shots of that. I had probably 5. And mind you, this was after two chardonnays at lunch. (OOPS) I brought my own chips and salsa though, so I had good things to munch on. But then we went to another bar to meet up with Scott for the Saints game… And that’s where things got a little crizzy. I think I only had one drink there, but that was pretty much enough. I had a yummy pressed wrap with grilled veggies + avocado, but I did eat some of the fries with it, and I sampled some of Scott’s bruschetta. I think the sudden influx of fatty stuff made my tummy very unhappy, because today it is in great pain. Didn’t help that we had to get up at 4:30am, and then stand in a line for 2.5 hours (I’m not even exaggerating here) to get rebooked because our flight was cancelled. The bod is sad. However, I’m sipping on a smoothie, some green tea, and nibbling on the rest of my muffins, so I think things should go back to normal in a day.

All in all, a successful trip in so many ways. I don’t often pat myself on the back, but I am definitely doing that right now. Didn’t even know I had willpower when it came to vacay+eating out.

I hope all of you guys had a great weekend with good times and good food! Our condo didn’t have an internet connection (GASP) so I have tons of “online” stuff to get caught up on, lots of bloggies to read. Like I said, I’ll upload tons of pics tonight. I even took pictures of people this time!

The lesson here is just watch the booze. Oh well. πŸ™‚

  1. Booze is el diablo when it comes to eating, that’s for sure. I’ve been known to eat second dinners after getting drunk! Ah well, live and learn. πŸ™‚
