the wedding workout

January 29, 2010 by Sarah S.

I was going to dust off my ol’ Billy Blanks DVD because I really don’t feel like treadmilling it today. However, while digging for that, I found this:

Still in its plastic wrap, haha! I have vague memories of doing another Women’s Health workout DVD before, and it wasn’t pleasant at all, so I guess I decided to leave this one alone whenever it was I bought it. However, since I am indeed, prepping for my wedding, I figured I’d see what it’s all about.

There are two pre-made workouts on the DVD, one for strapless dresses, and one for short, hip-hugging type dresses. Each workout contains a plan for each day of the week — for example, I just completed Monday which was Upper-Body and Cardio. Tomorrow looks like Abs & Core. 6 workouts for the week, with one rest day. The workout I just did was pretty cool I think. I have 3 pound weights, so I used those, and Marie Forleo took me through a series of calisthenics, yoga-type moves, kickboxing, and some regular weight-lifty type stuff. Along with a warm up and cool-down. I thought it was nice. I believe at my current fitness level, that another dose of cardio might be in order, but I did workout a good sweat. I think I’ll stick with this for a month and see how it goes, also adding in 30 minutes of cardio every other day.

Do you guys use exercise DVDs? Have you ever tried Billy Blanks? I still really enjoy Billy. šŸ™‚

  1. Hi Sarah,

I have used Billy Blanks tybo videos some 10 years ago just as he was emerging onto the fitness scene. I ordered half a dozen of his videos at a very high price of 60.00 each through my Spiegal account. In addittion the bright yellow punching bag. I see his videos are only a third of the cost now. The workout style is high energy .It works the whole body all at once. It’s a great workout style for younger people.

  3. Cool – I have used a few videos in the past. The last one I used was eight years ago though – Yoga During Pregnancy (just an FYI ;))
