In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m a big Colts fan. It’s an odd thing, because I’m not from Indianapolis, or anywhere near it. In fact, the teams that I should be a fan of are: The Jets, Giants, or Patriots. I gotta say, I give the Giants a little love here and there only because a Manning is their QB. But I can’t freakin’ stand the Patriots, and that makes me persona non grata around these Boston parts, fo’ shizzle! The reason I love the Colts so much, besides the obvious reasons (i.e., they rock) is because the year that I finally learned how to watch football was the year they went on to win the Superbowl. HTB (who was just James back then!) sat me down in a sports bar, and using straws and salt & pepper shakers, patiently explained to me how football works. When I finally GOT it, I was HOOKED. Woot woot!
So anyhow, I’m pumped for the game tonight. We’ve got our bar scoped out, I’ve got my jersey on, and HTB will be wearing my Colts mard gras beads, just to RUB IT IN. (Sorry Rachel!)
In other news, I figured I’d get you up to date on a few eatable highlights from the weekend. I’ve been drinking a little too much for sure, but hopefully my Zumba classes will keep me safe. My super favorite thing to eat this weekend was a tortilla pizza, with new types of ingredients!
This is the easiest meal ever, and it was so tasty I died over it. Onto a flax tortilla went a spread of tomato sauce, then my mix of chopped brussels sprouts and kale (leftovers veggies from the night before) and a generous sprinkling of nutritional yeast. I put that in the oven, on broil for a few minutos, while I nuked one of those TJ’s Masala Burgers. Then I took the pizza out, crumbled the burger on top, and broiled it until it was delicious crispiness. Then I topped it with splashes of Frank’s Hot Sauce (ADDICTED). Gosh it was so good. I think I calculated it to be around 250 calories (my tortilla is 90 calories per). It was so good I had already inhaled half of it before I remember to take a picture. That’s the power of the extreme zoom!
On Friday, we hit up Paparazzi’s for some dranks, after we, responsibly, chowed down at home for dinner.
I had the elegant and fruity red wine sampler, and while I know that glass looks normal, it’s actually a pony glass. They give you three varieties of red to try. I had one called Puglia that was my fave. Delicious.
They also gave me some of these to munch on, because they are so sweet at Papa’s.
Yummy olives and marinated mushrooms. We had a good time.
Last night we saw a HYSTERICAL movie called, It’s Complicated. Definitely see it! Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin were fantastic, HTB and I were in stitches the whole time!
After the movie, we definitely went out for tequila shots, and I’m sorry I don’t have any photographic evidence for you, but… not that sorry. I’m pretty sure that I had like 4-5 shots, at least. Amazingly, I feel just fine this morning, and I think that’s… because of a miracle? I dunno. 🙂
HTB has been faithfully drinking his Green Monster Goddess every morning, as he promised. Although he doesn’t so much drink it, as it he chugs it in 2 seconds. That’s okay! I made a delicious one this morning, and as per usual, remembered to snap a pic halfway through.
I call this one the GODDESS OF HANGOVERS. Haha. I dunno.
2 c baby spinach
1 tsp ground flax
1/2 pack of frozen acai
agave to taste
Lots of goodness in there, and it was delicious. Definitely give it a try!
Anyone have any fun plans for today? Any traditions? HTB and I don’t yet have a Superbowl tradition, but once we get into a place that can hold a few peeps, I’d love to have a party at my hizzle 🙂
HAPPY SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!!
